Ryan of Arc
For those of you who’ve made it this far, thank you for reading as much or as little as you have. The Bastille here is my island, it is my home. I’ve thought long and hard about the particular purpose of this blog, why it exists in the realm of hundreds, nay, thousands of others just like it, all laced in various levels of narcissism. The only reasonable thing I could muster up is this: the entire affair is sloppy, unorganized and never consistent but for the most part is an accurate representation of me. Take it or leave it.
I write on here seldom unless I’ve overcome with a raging fit of need to make multiple posts which sometimes happens. Its basically a habitat to share my thoughts whenever I feel slighted to, so if you plan on reading this thing, I would recommend checking it once a week to be sure, but never expecting something new in that time period. I average maybe 10 posts a month. I’m trying to work on this. As of late my ratio of posts has gotten better, I think. I’m never really good at judging that sort of thing.
The Bastille itself is completely personal in every possible way. Myself, I’m a 20 year old college student, taking a child and youth worker program whilst dealing with clinical depression. Some days I’m rambling on and on like I forgot to take my concerta, all wide-eyed and excited and others, I’m self-depreciative and entertaining negative emotions. If you get off on that sort of thing, you’ve found your new favourite website. As of late I’ve begun taking Cipralex an anti-depressive. I’ll be making random observations and updates regarding that in the future.
Now content wise, the most common thing you’ll find on here is my poetry, or possibly little rants about something or another; but mostly poetry. I used to write uncoordinated depressive rants at 4am, but hindsight is 20/20 and I want to be taken seriously with my writing. I also write record reviews for albums and bands I like and talk extensively about music. I have a small list of external sites I’d recommend you guys check out and I think my tag cloud is the most beautiful thing in the world.
Oh, also, occasionally I get a drifter who shares his thoughts. You’ll know him, he’s the funny one.

Also, for those who are too cool for facebook, but aren’t totally opposed to some sort of social networking websites or what have you, you can find me at these two locations:
myspace where you can call me a sellout to my display picture
last.fm Where you can be in awe of my superior musical taste

I don’t read nearly as often as I should, but my favourite authors are J.D. Salanger and Charles Bukowski. I’ve also been trying to read “The Karamazov Brothers” by Fyodor Dostovesky for running on four years. Fuck Russian Literature.

I introduced to Regina, I’m glad you love her as much as I do.
